1. About DockDirect

DockDirect is a marketplace platform that connects licensed commercial fishermen in Rhode Island and Massachusetts with buyers. DockDirect facilitates transactions but is not a party to the sale of fish between fishermen and buyers.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to use DockDirect. Fishermen must hold a valid commercial fishing license issued by the State of Rhode Island or Massachusetts and comply with all applicable catch and sale regulations.

3. Payments and Fees

All payments are processed by Stripe. DockDirect charges a 13% platform fee on each transaction, deducted from the fisherman's payout. Prices are set by individual fishermen and displayed in USD. All sales are final once the order is confirmed at the dock.

4. Refunds and Disputes

If a fisherman fails to deliver an order or the product materially differs from the listing, contact dockdirectfish@gmail.com within 24 hours and we will review your case and issue a refund at our discretion. Disputes about quality of fresh seafood (a highly perishable product) must be raised at the time of pickup.

5. Fisherman Responsibilities

  • All listings must be for legally caught, commercially licensed product.
  • Species, weight, and price must be accurately represented.
  • Fishermen are responsible for completing orders they list and accept.
  • DockDirect may remove listings or suspend accounts for violations.

6. Limitation of Liability

DockDirect is not liable for the quality, safety, or legality of seafood sold through the platform. Buyers assume responsibility for proper handling, storage, and preparation of seafood. DockDirect's maximum liability for any claim is limited to the transaction amount in dispute.

7. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Rhode Island. Disputes shall be resolved in courts located in Providence County, Rhode Island.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of DockDirect after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
